We just went and picked fruit for the Portland Fruit Tree Project and made about 6 gallons of cider from the fruit (apples and pears). You pick for a few hours and you get about 25 lbs. per person.
Highly recommended and it help out charity, wasting perfectly good fruit and you get your share.
