Hey all... so, about to embark on a new brew (our 3rd in the past six months...), and I had a question about juice powders...

Our second batch was an Apricot Saison where we used a puree in the secondary fermentation-- quite easy, actually! Our next brew is going to be a wheat beer, and we were thinking of adding pomegranate to it, but it's pretty expensive for puree! Not looking to do extracts here, and juice, well... maybe as a last resort. We like the that the puree infuses flavor into the beer (and prefer it), as opposed to the "added flavor" taste of extracts/juices... So a decent option we came up with is pomegranate powder (sold at places like Whole Foods and natural food stores...), which we believe would settle in the beer and give us that infused flavor we're looking for (or, if it's too fine a powder, even putting it in a sanitized hop bag or something and dropping it in the carboy)... However, as we are new to the brewing process in general, we don't know if this is even a good idea...

Has anyone tried this? Any thoughts or suggestions??? Thanks!~
