Attempting to add orange peels or zest to a porter wonder how much is two much and best time to add to boil if any one has tried this

I did N. Brewer's La Petite orange kit a while ago. Their instructions, which I followed, said to add the zest of two oranges at flameout. I don't know how many ounces that was however. The beer was great though.

Make sure it's just the zest. You don't want the white stuff under the peels cuz that will add some unwanted bitterness.

I'm a little late to this post, but I just brewed a beer that used the zest of tangelo (oranges looked like crap). 2 good sized and comparable to a orange were about an ounce per fruit. This was done with zero white... only the actual zest.
