Guys thanks again for the patience and answering so promptly.

So one of the receipts I am planning to brew calls for Citra Leaf. Why leaf over pellets, and are the leaves handled differently than the pellets? Lastly could you just sub pellets and not cause problems with the process

Is this for the boil or dryhopping? I know some people who prefer to dryhop with whole leaf because as long as you put a muslin sock on the racking tube they won't transfer (unlike pellets which create such small particulate that you can suck them up).

It is a boil. Here is the receipt.

I've used both in the boil & dry hopping. The leaf hops seem to give better flavor definition to me. Whereas pellets give bittering quicker, with crisper flavor qualities. Seems like the brewer who wrote the recipe wanted some of both qualities.
