has fermcapS ever failed you?

Brewed a 1.127 barleywine on Sunday. Pitched on a wlp002 yeast cake. Added 10 drops to the fermentor. In the past krausen has never gotten taller than 1". This morning it's about 4". I affixed the blowoff tubes just in case it creeps higher while I'm at work.

I use it in the boil. I rarely have more than a couple inches of krausen. How big was your starter?
