Hi there guys I'm going to be doing my first brew tomorrow and the boil pot I'm going to use has been use to make soups and other foods. So what I'm asking is I have pbw and want to clean it its not a big pot so how much PBW do I use I don't have a scale to weight it out like it says on the container.

What material is the kettle? You do not want to store pbw in "softer" metals like aluminum, and copper. Also what size is it?

If it is stainless, then make some hot water (~120f) and put a couple of tablespoons in there and let it soak overnight. Then give it a quick scrub and wash it with the same hot (~120f) water. This is what I do for my keggles.
