Placement of element

Finally decided to use a bazooka screen. I assume that I should put the bazooka screen as low as I can and put the element above it??? How much space should I leave between them? Wagon, I am assuming about 6 inches to be above the grain bed?

are you thinking of putting an element in the mash tun?

as a point of reference i have my element just high enough to clear the diptube in my bk, which is what i would recommend.

Duh...sorry having a stupid moment. I had mash run on the brain, but was looking for the height people were putting elements in later and boil kettles.

it really depends on how high your ports are in your kettle
