Hi all,

We had 200l in a 1000l fermenter (ill advised, we now know). Everything fine up until bottling, in which we looked in and saw the below pictures.

Is this headspace oxygen feeding the mould? We were spraying in CO2, but maybe missed one or two days. The top is mostly closed but we have rigged up a heater to keep temp levels and there is a small gap at the top of the fermenter.

We also reused yeast from our last brew, washed and grew up. But the beer still tastes good, so to me the yeast doesn't seem like the culprit. The mould looks like it's grown on the kursen itself.

We're trying to narrow down and eliminate what could have caused it. Any help appreciated!
