Greetings all!

I'm in need of some tips on setting the gap on our new Monster Mill 2.

We bought a set of feeler gauges from Harbor Freight and set it to what we believe is .045 to start out.

My question is, when are you considered "set" with the gauges? Should the gauges barely touch the rollers, be difficult to push through, go cleanly through the gap?

At this moment we set it to where there's a bit of give when you stick .045 worth through, but not much. What is the right answer?

Thanks all!

The "gap" is the thickness of the gauge. That being said, the surface of the rollers being knurled presents a problem. I always set mine so that the rollers are firmly pressed against the gauge at both ends; the key though, is to do it the same way every time
