I know it's not stainless but it's mine.

1 1/2 copper with a 240V/5500 element using 120V
Most of the fittings were out of a box under my bench.
Low Budget.

Still working on the control box. It will be a PID with SSR.

I was going to do something like this, but I just about choked when I priced out copper.
Good for you for having that kind of copper stash.
I'l jealous.

I said most of the fittings, what i should have said was I had the 1/2 npt fittings.

12 inches of 1 1/2 copper cost me $6
1 1/2 copper Tee was $11 (ouch)
1 1/2 Copper union ws $3
Heating element $9
1 1/4 NPT to 1 NPT brass reducers $6 ea
1 NPT to 1/2 NPT brass reducers $2 ea
so i have like $50 on top of the 1/2 npt pieces

I know it's not cheap but i personally like the Copper and it's about 1/2 the price it would have cost me in stainless.
