So I came across this article in popular science magazine yesterday.
http://www.popsci.com/gadgets/article/2013-04/anywhere-beer
It talked about how this company was concentrating the beer down to where you could have a small amount of beer and just add carbonated water and then have a full pint.
Has anyone tried to make this before and is it that hard to actually do.

So I saw a lot of views. just no reply. guess no one has tried. All well.

This isn't a crazy idea....we've all had beers that were too malty or had too much of an alcohol burn, so we added water to it to balance it out. All this is is an extreme example of an unbalanced beer that needs some water added.

BUT, what doesn't compute is that we all also know that AFTER you add water to that unbalanced beer, it needs conditioning time to allow chemical reactions between all of the existing compounds and the H2O to mature the beer. In this case, no issues at all with taking reduced beer and adding water, but it would probably need some time before it was a good beer. Just adding carbonated water to the beer syrup sounds like a young, passable/drinkable beer, but it's far from optimal.

If you need to shrink the size of your alcohol, just stick to liquor :)
