Cannelli beans + beer = heartburn

Recently made a chili. All the materials were things I normally eat, but this time I used cannelli beans. Man am I suffering from heartburn. Ate the chili Sunday with beer, heartburn. Ate it without beer on Tuesday, no heartburn. Ate it this evening with beer, heartburn again.
Anybody else have a food that just doesn't go with beer? If it is a specific type of beer only I would be curious too. Never had anything like this happen.
