My experience with this yeast is that it doesn't floc "tightly" in the bottom of the bottle. Its difficult to pour a beer without disturbing it no matter how careful you are. Is this common with this strain or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

How long are you giving it in the fridge after carbing/conditioning?

May I suggest that you give it at least 3 days? That will give the trub cake a better chance to firm up.

I don't know what it is I do, but with any yeast i've used, and 1056 is definitely used most often, even if I throw one in the freezer for a quick chill (and having put in the minimum time for carbing) I get a nice tight mini-cake on the bottom. I've for the most part quit even looking while I pour. Dump it out in one shot and never get any yeast.
