I have never made mead. Is there a basic guide or steps you follow? There seem to recipes, but the actually steps are lost to me.

Also, does anyone commercially make mead. I would love to taste it; however, all the recipes sounds so good I might as well try it.

If you don't have any brewing background, you may want to pick up a basic brewing book...yes, it's probably mostly about beer, but it will go over the basics of sanitation, racking, bottling...a lot of the basic brewing techniques are common to beer brewing, as well as wine and mead making. An oldy but goody is The New Complete Joy of Homebrewing by Charlie Papazian...there is some mead stuff in that book too. Also, definitely check out The Compleate Meadmaker by Ken Schramm...a wealth of meadmaking knowledge easily referenced quickly on your bookshelf.

Online stuff: The Sticky on meadmaking basics. The NewBee guide at GotMead.com

There are commercial meaderies out there, but they are few and far between...get your Google-shui on and look for what's local to you, or what might be distributed in your state...If you listed your general location, it might be possible for folks to point you better in that regard...
