Just finished my glcyol chiller build

Just finished building my DIY glycol chiller build. I used :

5000 btu arctic wind window AC -Walmart 129$
38qt cooler - Walmart 20$
54 gallon tote - Home Depot 25$
2 gallons glycol - local HBS 50$
6 gallons distilled water - CityMarket 6$
Inkbird controller - Amazon 25$
Wave Maker - Amazon 5$

271.00$ total. Couldn’t find a used AC unit (I live at 8k feet in the Rockies lol)

Chilled 63 gallon glycol bath from 63 to 25 f, in 40 minutes, has been sitting for 3 hours and it’s at 27. Using a 4 degree temp swing to avoid overworking the compressor.

I wired a surge protector into the cooling side of inkbird, with wave maker and AC unit plugged into said surge protector. Cut slots for intake ventilation, and a big exhaust port from expelling hot air out the back. Ticks away quite nicely. Anyone without temp control a highly recommend you go this route!

I literally only had to cut the two clips off thermostat, and wirenut the two wires together, and gently bend the condenser out and vertical, and then notch the cooler for it all to fit. I used a mini hacksaw to notch the cooler.
