Made a brown ale using WLP002 I washed off of an Irish red.
I was able to get 3 Whitelabs Vials worth of what I though looked like yeast out of the wash.

I didn't make a starter because it was a last minute brew day decision, but with that much yeast I figured it would be enough.

It's been 12 hours and this is the first time I haven't gotten active fermentation in that amount of time. I'm concerned.

I'm more worried about infection actually, should I just pitch two vials of fresh yeast?
 
No, you should wait AT LEAST 72 hours. Your past experiences are only anecdotal. I once had a lager take 4 days to show signs of life...all was fine in the end.

Even just a few cells can reproduce and make beer. RDWHAHB :mug:
