I need advice on brewing a hard root beer

Hi,

I'm getting close to brewing my first hard root beer, and I have a few questions.

1. Is this recipe from 2013 still one of the best to try? https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/threads/hard-root-beer-recipe.416406/
2. Can anyone verify that using a 30-micron filter resolves the separation issue? I added this question to the original post a week ago but got no replies, so I'm trying it here.
3. My plan is to follow the recipe, drain the secondary through a 30-micron filter into a keg, carb it for a week or so and then bottle it using a beer gun. Is there anything I'm overlooking?
