PEX for fly sparging

I am looking at this hot water pex piping instead of copper for my fly sparging cooler apparatus. Has anyone ever tried using this in place of copper? The fittings are cheaper the pipe is half the price of copper and its rating up to 200 degrees.

Haven't tried it... yet.

I have quite a bit left over from when I re-plumbed my house.. and I'm thinking it should work well.

I will take 240* without any problems, solar water heater with a failed primary relief valve secondary pops at 240* so should have no problems.

The concern with PEX is that it starts to deform at higher temperatures, so depending on the pressure inside it, that could be disastrous.

I'm sure a March pump can't put out enough pressure to do that.

I am guessing that while I am building my RIMS setup I shouldn't really use the PEX for anything other than my mash tun manifold. But it would save me some money over silicone so it's tempting to try...
