First time using this, two 5ml syringes. I used pliers to twist the plug out of the syringe. Might be good info for someone else; no instructions provided for that part.
The syringes were included in a kit from Northern Brewer. Acquired 22 months ago, all hop pellets were stored in freezer. Checked with NB support who confirmed freezing the hop shot syringes was safe to do. Day before brew, placed syringes in refrigerator. Brew day, placed syringes in hot water. I changed the water a few times.
Pushed plunger to dispense the extract into boiling wort and the consistency is thick. Thicker than pancake syrup. I'm not sure it fully dissolved during the boil.
1) Is that normal? See photo of my whisk taken from chilled wort. Note the gummy gunk stuck to it.
2) Was it actually safe to freeze it?
Thanks in advance.
