Speidel 3.2 gal plastic fermentor has no airlock?

I am looking to buy one of the Speidel 3.2 gallon plastic fermentors for my 2.5 gallon batches but I just saw on More Beer that the 3.2 gallon version does not have a hole for an airlock?! Because of the small batch is one not needed? Or have people been drilling them out and putting gromets and airlocks on them? ANy help would be much appreciated.

An air lock is a must. Looks like you have to drill a hole and install a grommet. Either that or use foil in lieu of the lid.

Just leave the lid threaded on but loose, or employ foil.
