Can I use a galvanized steel pot as my hot liquor tank? I know I can't use it as a brew kettle or mash tun but I found a vintage 10 gallon Igloo Water cooler made from galvanized steel and I'd love to put it to use. Can I heat it directly over a propane fired burner to heat my strike and sparge water?

Galvanized over direct hear? Umm,Hmm. Well I will tell you that when I weld galvanized steel I have to use a supplied air respirator because the galvanized coating is extremely poisonous to breathe in...so...use at your own risk, but there is no way in hell I would
