Hello from a newbie

Hi all,

I'm new to the concept of home brew. I've obviously seen it on telly so bought myself a home brewers kit. Apparently I can make cider, wine and beer with it but I'm gonna take it all at one step at a time.

I think I may start by making a batch of Nettle beer as per river cottage or You tube. Anyone know how this tastes in comparison to other beers? It looks pretty easy to make.

Why don't you start with a recipe kit so you learn the process (it isn't like on TV) and see how your brew turns out. After you know the process you can start experimenting with something like nettle beer but how would you know if the results were good or bad without knowing what a regular beer turns out like.

RM-MN is correct, start with a kit for sure. Great way to get the basic process down.
