I'm going to be brewing a 1.137 barleywine this weekend. I have 2.5 oz of enocube oak red finishing cubes. I know they're for wine but I'm sure they'll be fine for beer.

RED FINISHING
This blend uses characters to emphasize ripe fruit with hints of coffee, chocolate, and spice, adding great complexity to wine.

I want a moderate oak flavor.

When should I add these?

How long should they stay?

How many should I add?

The oak is in cube form, right? With wood aging it's basically a guess-and-check kind of thing, there are no solid rules. I'd add 1.5-2 ounces of oak cubes per 5 gallons of beer, and plan to leave it in secondary for 2-6 months, tasting along the way. My og came out to 1.127. Pitched on Wlp002 yestcake. Was 1.050 after 7 days @65f. How long can I expect to primary this thing? 3-4 weeks?
