Looking for some thoughts on this. I have a refractometer that measures brix and sg. The last several brews have all measured 1.055 sg. This weekend I did a wookie jack clone which had an estimated sg of 1.080. When I took a reading it showed 1.055.

I've also noticed all my fg readings show 1.012. Across the board. I calibrated my refractometer with distiller water but the numbers never seem to change. Any thoughts?

Could it be cracked? Make a sugar water, measure, double the sugar, measure again, if it doesn't go up get a new one... Live my refractometer... But use I use hydrometer after ferment...

Just noticed you said refractomerer... I would still check it the same way, make sure to calibrated every once in a while with distilled water, should get 1.000
