Frost advisory tonight

I have 2nd year potted hops that are about 2 feet tall. Should I undo my jute and bring them in? Were supposed to get hotter and hotter as the week goes on- into the 80s and such. It's only 4 plants but I'd rather not have to do the work to bring them in tonight if I don't have to. Tonight is just a little cold snap here in the blue ridge.

I would just get some plastic and cover them up, they should be ok with that.

What you might also do is prior to covering them up, put a couple buckets of warm water underneath the plastic. That will help provide some thermal mass and will shed some heat to protect them. But cover them.

If the freeze gets them, it's not a big deal. The top growth may die, but the roots will be fine and new growth will come up once it warms up again.

Some of my hops are nearing 3 feet already.

I broke up a couple and transplanted them to a new place, but I have plenty left that I don't know what to do with. Oh well.
