I dont know if the title says it all, but after harvesting or making a big starter, can you just put the vials/preforms/containers in the freezer and store the yeast? If so, how long is it good for? If not, why cant you? Thanks guys and gals for all the help, ive honestly learned so much from this site. Really appreciate it.

Take a look at the methods using vegetable glycerin. On my way to work(yeah, and stopped to look at the forums). I have had good success in small mason jars, water/slurry/glycerin with getting frozen samples to start a starter.

I stole a tip from bootleg biology for that process which is to fill vials 20% with glycerin and pressure cook them so that you have ready-made vials on hand when you need them, and you don't have to worry about getting the wrong water/glycerin ratios.
