In this exBEERiment, we had blind participants compare a New England IPA made with flaked oats to one made with the same amount of wheat malt. Were they different enough for them to tell them apart? Results are in!

Part of me says "yup, doesn't surprise me at all". I brewed my standard wit with carapils because I was out of oats. Turned out great.

Another part of me (the part that is so done with over-hopped out of balance turpentine flavored beers) says "try the same test with something that isn't hoppy"
