Hi, just brewed a imperial pilsner, recipe from HBT. Should I be seeing krausen? Or does it take a lot longer when lagering to see it foam up?

My last few lagers had a very weak foamy ring of a krausen at best. A slow lager fermentation without much activity is definitely a good sign. Just make sure you are tracking gravity to make sure everything is AOK.

Good luck!

I don't entirely agree with these other posts. My lagers have a lil bit more lag than ales (say 24-48 hours, vs 12-24), but theres still definitely a full krausen, albeit maybe half the size, and visible activity. My ales usually finish in 2-5 days while the lagers are 4-7 days.
