So I have a couple of extra taps laying around and was going to do this for the ladies for Memorial Day. Anyone think the stickiness will ruin the tap? The liquid inside will be sour mix, vodka, watermelon puree, and maybe some other stuff.

Yes, it will be ruined. It will have a big hole in the side of it and will crumple like an old jack o' lantern.

Oh.. you weren't talking about the watermelon... ;-)

it's stainless steel.
you'll just need to take it apart and clean it out properly

I notice you may try this with a Perlick faucet, and not the cheap piston style faucet shown in the picture. Due to the design of the Perlick faucet, you may have a problem with the faucet not sealing properly if there is no back pressure, especially if some watermelon pulp or bits of seeds get in the way. It is an interesting idea though.
