Had my first bottle bomb ever. Tried my cider and its way to carbonated and dry. I back sweetened before bottling but I have been really busy and didnt have time to pasturize on the stove. Could I back sweeten again and pasturize right after I bottle and cut back the carbonation? This seems like a lot of work but my cider is almost undrinkable because its way to carbonated. Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Andy

Absolutely possible. Something along the lines of:
1- Open bottle
2- Wait a few (5? 10?) minutes for some de-gassing to occur.
2- Add sweetener to bottle and re-cap
3- pasteurize immediately

This is essentially how non-dry champagne is made, minus the de-gassing & pasteurization.
