I have a lb of both US Northern Brewer and US Magnum hops. Has anyone else used these two in combination?

I like Magnum as my bittering hop, but I'm kind of afraid of the double resin-y effect of using both of these.

---

I was thinking of something along the lines of:

5 Gallon Batch, ~6gallon boil

10lb US 2row
1.5lb Munich
1lb Corn Sugar (For dryness)

2 oz Magnum @ 60 min
1 oz NB @ 60 min
1 oz Magnum @ 15 min
1 oz NB @ 15 min
1 oz Magnum @ 10 min
1 oz Citra @ 5 min
1 oz Citra @ Flameout

Dryhop with 2 oz Citra.

---

This would put me at 1.068 OG (70% eff), and 7.9% ABV with ~110IBU.

Do you think the NB/Magnum combo would be too earthy/piney?

Ive made a couple batches using Magnum and NB. My favorite was Magnum for Bittering, NB for Flavor and Ahtanum for Aroma.

I think I would do the same for this recipe. Keep what you got, but move both your NB additions to 15 min.

Brewed this yesterday, but scaled it to 10 gallons. Figured I like IPAs enough that even if the hop combo doesn't work great, I'll still be happy.

Ended up going:
20lb US 2row
3lb Munich
2lb Corn Sugar

4 oz Magnum @ 60 min
2 oz Magnum @ 15 min
4 oz NB @ 15 min
2 oz Magnum @ 10 min
2 oz Citra @ 5 min
2 oz Citra @ Flameout

I ended up being a bit low in OG post mash, so I added 2 lbs DME. That got me to 1.070 in the fermenter.

It was overpoweringly hoppy smelling in my brewroom. In other words, fantastic.

I'll let you all know how it comes out!
