How long till hops sprout?

Lots of factors in that one. Quality/type of rhizome. Ground temp, depth planted, amount watered...ext.

Yup, it definitely varies quite a bit. My first-year, the pale, pencil thick rhizome plantings took a few weeks to pop up; otoh, this year I cut a finger-thick eyeless chunk of root stock from one of my third year Cascades and stuck it in the corner of the bed, and there were robust sprouts within the week...

Look for the white shoots that's on your root. Leave the tips expose to the sun when you plant them. They will turn green in a day or two.
