I'd been debating on buying one of those drill-attached brushes for carboys ($20-40) but over the weekend I decided to try making my own rather than wait a few days for one to ship to me.

I used an old fiberglass tent pole and the washers and "fastener pair" (not sure what it's called) cost less than $2 total.

I'd estimate that I put 30 min into making it...just drilled holes into the pole sleeve, folded a towel into thirds and sewed it up and then put it all together.

My only complaint is that the fiberglass can flex a bit but as long as it's centered in the carboy it doesn't matter.

Nice one. I was thinking about making something like this for cleaning sanke kegs since I'm using them for fermenters. Has anyone reading this tried that before?

How well does it work? Would love to see a video cleaning a nasty carboy!
