Very similar to what I made for a homebrew competition last year, but I used a wood burning tool to etch the letters in.

What kind of nut did you guys use to connect the handle to the tap?

I was thinking about burning it in wasn't sure if I had the skill for that!

I used a 3/8th 16 coupler that screws on to the tap and then they had a 3/8th 16 with wood screw on the other side. I found it all in the fasteners aisle at home depot. I walked in with the faucet and showed it to the old guy working there and he said lets see what we have and showed me. I have to get more I'll take some pics of them and post them.

Those look great. I have been thinking about doing the same thing, but using the Hillman brass 3/8-16 inserts sold at Lowes.
