Hi,

First post. Just made my first AG batch a Kolsh,

Just a question re fermenting for best results.

1) Primary @ 65 for 1 week (or until 1st FG)
2) Secondary @65 for 2 weeks.

Then this is it gets a bit unclear for me. To lager or not??

Should I just bottle at this point and leave at 60 for 2/2 or take the whole secondary and lager for 4 weeks and then bottle. If so do I need to reyeast the lagered beer before bottling?

Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Just tried my first batch of Kölsch yesterday, delish!

I would recommend primary for 2-3 weeks and then rack to secondary/bottling bucket and leave at colder temperatures for another 2-4 weeks. Worked for me and beer is tasty&clear

Primary for just 1 week seems too short to me

Part of the beauty of Kolsch IMHO is that it doesn't need any secondary or lagering. A few weeks to clear up is nice, but not needed. As fast as you can get it in a glass is all you need. :)
