I would like to know more about the tasting process, and beer industry in general, what are some good books I could read to learn more?

I like "Brewing Classic Styles" because it breaks down every beer (pretty much) by style and gives a very nice explanation of that style according to BJCP guidelines.

Also try "Tasting Beer" I have not read it yet but it got a lot of good reviews.

Go on amazon or somewhere and type in beer, filter by top rated and you will get plenty of results.

The Brewers Apprentice by Stone Brewings Greg Koch. Almost done reading it. Goes over brewing aspects and styles. Lots of in depth stuff about the industry and interviews with big craft brewery brewmasters including Russian River, Three Floyds, Cantillion etc. And does have a chapter on tasting.
