ANNOUNCING THE 2013 SASQUATCH BREW FEST HOMEBREW COMPETITION

Greetings Homebrewers and Judges,
2013 marks the 11th anniversary of The Sasquatch Brew Fest. Managed and produced by Northwest Legends Foundation and the members of Cascade Brewers Society, the Sasquatch Brew Fest Homebrew Competition is a benefit event that raises money for the non-profit Glen Falconer Foundation. Since 2004 the foundation has awarded fifteen full-tuition brewing education scholarships to brewers and homebrewers. The event also raises money for other non-profit organizations in the Eugene area (see website at http://www.northwestlegendsfoundation.org/).
This will be an AHA/BJCP sanctioned competition. Judging will be held at The Eugene Oregon Hilton Hotel on April 27th 2013. Check the website (to be updated soon ) http://www.northwestlegendsfoundation.org/homebrew.html
Contest entries must be received at either of the following locations no later than 5 P.M. on April 20, 2013:
Falling Sky Brewing 30 E. 13th Eugene, OR 97401 www.brewabeer.com
F.H. Steinbarts 234 S.E. 12th Portland, OR 97214 fhsteinbart.com
Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in the following BJCP style categories:
• Category 2: Pilsner
• Category 5: Bock
• Category 8: English Pale Ale
• Category 10: American Ale
• Category 12: Porter
• Category 13: Stout
• Category 14: IPA
• Category 18 Belgian Strong Ale
• Category 19: Strong Ale
• Glen Tribute Beer (style guidelines found on entry web site)

Best of Show prize is tuition and lodging for HopUnion’s Hop School (see http://hopunion.com/29_HopsBrewSchool.cfm?p8=open). Winner is responsible transportation and incidental expenses.
 
Thanks Denny, another fine brewfest. Sooooo many great beers, Glen would have been happy, I'm sure.

I haven't made the brewfest in several years since they always schedule it the same day as Big Brew. Kinda pisses me off. I'm a homebrewer first and if I have to choose between homebrewing and the fest, I'll take homebrewing.

BTW, I see you're in Monroe. That's darn close to where I live.
 
Took 1st in Porters and 2nd BIS. Not bad for my third time entering a show. :mug: Gotta thank forums like this for all the solid guidance and info.
 
Congrats you guys! I scored too. Took first in Belgian Strong Ales with a year and a half old entry. Interesting how this batch keeps getting better, it scored second last year at the HOTV. Cheers
