I did an IIPA with Columbus for bittering, and Citra for flavor and aroma, all US 2 row. It came out pretty good, but I would have liked a stronger malt presence. I would suggest a 2 hour boil to get more flavor out of the 2 row, but thats for my taste, ymmv.

I just stopped at my lhbs.
For 1 gallon I picked up 2lb 2oz pale 2 row and 3oz Crystal 20l so not exactly a SMaSH anymore but I think I'll do the single hop addition.

Thanks, I've used Citra, but they're still in primary. I haven't had much experience with it before.

I have a noobish question. Would the Crystal malt benefit from mashing at 152, then adding some corn sugar to help thin it out into a dryer ipa, or should I mash at a lower temp?
