So I am going to make a dry dock apricot blonde clone. Here is my recipe-

5.5lbs 2 row
.5lbs Crystal 20

.5oz cascade 60 min.

Now, the recipes Ive found call for apricot puree to be added to the secondary, and then a few ounces of apricot extract at bottling.

My question is, instead of using apricot puree, would it be okay to dice up some apricots, throw them in a blender, making 30oz or so, and use that instead of the puree?

That more or less is apricot puree. The challenge is making sure the fruit is sanitized, since it's going into secondary, whereas the cans are sanitized in processing. I believe you can bring the fruit up to 170 for 30 min. and that'll kill any baddies, but I haven't done this or know if that would have any ill effects.
