I have a scottish ale kit beer that has been sitting for three weeks now and I need to brew my red ale kit today. Will it be ok to move the scottish ale to my secondary fermenter for 4 days when 8 can bottle it ? I've read one site saying not to secondary ales at all.

As long as the beer's at a stable FG you can rack it to secondary. Just give it a lil more time to clean up & settle out clear or slightly misty before bottling.
Many use their secondary to open up the fermenter for another batch. I just use primary myself, but you don't have to.

Ok thank you I wasn't to sure and I need to get the other batch started probably need to buy another primary thanks again
