Paint Strainer Flour Processing Nylon Filter Cloth

Is this safe to boil? All that is listed is nylon which is the same as paint strainer I'm assuming?

Yikes! Those are huge!

I've never had problems with nylon bags scorching on the bottom of the kettle, but then I just use mine for BIAB, so I don't boil them.

BTW, Wilserbrewer makes some neat nylon bags in different sizes. You might find the size you need there.

The BIAB method is what I had in mind, but I wanted one to use as a spider. I now use a 5 gal strainer bag but I wanted something I could frame to fit inside my 20gal kettle without scorching. Think of a turkey fryer basket, that fills 90% of the kettle but I can lift out before running through the pump/chiller. The 5 gal bag seems to clump up and flow gets a bit tight when I brew APA/IPA, I wanted a larger bag to improve circulation.

I wonder if this might work for you.

I just bought a couple from them and they seem to be quite sturdy. They fill my 10-gal kettle with room to spare. Haven't put them to the test yet.
