My wife likes those miller and bud lite lime beers. I was thinking of doing a gallon experiment for her. Has anyone ever had success with a lime beer?

I haven't but saw no post yet. I would do a very lit American ale (search for thread about yellow fizzy beer) then add some lime juice or artificial lime flavor after it finishes fermenting. If you bottle condition then would pay attention to pH.

True enough about limes. Seems too easy though! Have you guys been talking to my wife???

Lol. Actually lime in a miller is better than corona and 1/4 the price.

Your wife?? er...no...I mean....who have you been talking to?????

Lemon lime hefe. Search for it, 10 gals in and love it!

My family is the same way so I went the lemon lime hefe with Limeade added in secondary and it was so so since I was looking for a bud light lime or blue light lime beer and the styles are just different. That recipe is here... https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f70/lemon-lime-hefe-weizen-255659/

Im gonna try these...

...as well as one I found in the Jamil/Palmer book on brewing classic styles, and then add some Rose's Lime Cordial at kegging/bottling. Ive had that with Soco and also kamikaze's and think its the closest im gonna get to the lime flavor of Bud Light Lime or Blue Light Lime.

If u find any other recipes, be sure to post them here!

I was thinking of doing a gallon of this and when I rack to secondary, adding lime zest!

Those other recipes look awesome!

Well, I bottled the lime beer I made today. I used a Brooklyn brew shop recipe for an American ale. They call it Worlds Greatest Dad. Anyway- did a two gallon batch and added 1/2 a limes worth of zest in the last five minutes of boil. Even warm and flat, it taste awesome! Even the wife was impressed! The lime amount is perfect. Just enough that you know it's there!

Going to the beach at the end of June and think this beer will be perfect by then!

I attempted a 312 clone with lime in it. Grain bill was 80/20 2-row/torrefied wheat, about 20 IBUs of cascade for an hour with .5 oz at flameout with the zest from 4 limes. I split half the batch onto 2lbs of strawberries and left the other half just lime.

It came out great, definitely more wheat than 312, but that balances out the lime really well.
