About what would be my expected gravity with 10 pounds of grain at about 65 percent efficiency?

4 lbs 11 oz pils
3 lbs 13 oz Belgian pale
1 lbs 8 oz rye

Thanks guys. Calcing for hop additions late in the game...

Depends on the volume, doesn't it? 1.046 for 5 gallons for 5 gallons... but 1.041 for 5.5 gallons ... 1.038 for 6 gallons, etc.

1 + .230/Volume-in-gallons.

Well I ended up with 1.050 and just shy of my target fermenter volume. I would guess I under sparged, this time having losses in the form of break material and whole cone hops.

I might have been down a quart. Woozy s equation gives me 1.048.
Or if I was down two quarts: 1.051

I got excited I was getting better efficiency. False alarm...

My efficiency's been way down lately too. Kind of annoying, isn't it?

I find software to be quite useful for doing these sorts of calculations. Takes the guesswork (and multiple answers) out of it. It also helps with calculating the proper volume of brewing liquor so as not to undershoot batch size.
