BJCP styles for Bitter, Pale Ale

I was going to brew a couple recipes from James Morton's Brew from Scratch, English Pale Ale and English-style 'Bitter'. While adjusting the recipes for my equipment, my software wanted the style. I didn't know what style either of these technically fit in.

Hopefully I'm not starting an argument here..
