I started a gallon of wine last weekend with the intention of using the slurry to make some Skeeter Pee. However, looking at the recipe, I see I need yeast energizer in addition to yeast nutrient.

My question, therefore, is: It seems like a waste to drive all the way to a LHBS just for a bottle of yeast energizer; none of the ones around here are really convenient to just stop by, and I don't have the money to pick up any other recipes while I'm there. Since I have to pick up some extra sugar anyway, is there anything I could get at an average grocery store that I could use as yeast energizer? Or is that a specialized enough product that I really need what the LHBS sells?

Excellent, thank you.

This is gonna be a good brewing summer. Skeeter Pee, sour beers, saisons... I might just get my pipeline established after all.
