Hey peeps, I have bottled my first ever batch last weekend, havent had any bottle bombs yet so must have checked gravity correctly lol. I have my 2nd brew fermenting since last weekend, havent seen airlock activity but as there is plenty of krausen i thinks its been and gone so im not worried. Bottle that next weekend and put on another one. The Life!
If this beer is drinkable I will never need to buy beer again! One brew provides so much, so cheap. Why didnt i get into this years ago.
So, now i just have to wait, wait and twiddle my thumbs (or at least have a Heineken or 3) until it is ready to be consumed...

In theory you won't need to buy beer again but you will, lol!!!

Yeah, in theory, this sounds reasonable. In practice, not so much.

Since I started homebrewing, my purchases of commercial beer have skyrocketed... and I buy higher quality craft beer. These days I can barely choke down a Heineken, despite thinking it was fantastic prior to homebrewing.

I'm also spending more by going to breweries and sampling, as well as beer festivals. I suspect this is not uncommon.
