yeast starter question? Kinda a stupid question

So I bought two yeast tube for my scotch ale (thinking I would need two becasue of the high starting gravity, 1.089). This time around though I want to do a yeast starter, so can I use both yeast tubes in my yeast starter or just stick with just using just one yeast tube??

I realize its kinda a dumb question but I'd rather not waste it if I dont have to.

No, it's not necessary. Save the other vial for another batch.
