Any one have any luck with using 1 gal glass wine jugs to ferment in? They are screw cap jugs. I bought screw caps that fit with a hole in them for a airlock. They will work fine right?

also you can use your small weird/experimental brew as a starter for a larger batch of a less risky beer.
example: i had an old smack pack of witbier yeast; just brewed BIAB 5L of hibiscus/star anise wit to grow up the yeast for a 'normal' witbier.

1 gallon glass jugs work well. As posted above I also use them for 1 gallon experimental batches and once split a 5 gallon American Wheat and added a different fruit to each. I have had no problems using a rubber stopper or the plastic screw caps with the airlock hole. Usually though because of the container size I use a blowoff tube.
