10% ginger beer recipe?

If you are using white table sugar this stuff may be a fusal (bad alcohol) bomb. I would recommend using light dry malt extract (DME) for most of the sugars with some white sugar to thin it out. Also the malt will provide the yeast with needed nutrients and flavor. good luck :mug:
 
To get around 10% you will need to be in the 1.10 specific gravity area. By ordinary yeast do you mean like bread yeast? Do you live anywhere near a home brew store? Or you can order online at More Bear or other places. Google brewing supplies and you should find anything you need, but I wouldn't use bread yeast.
