I got a Frigidaire dorm fridge, its the Lowes exclusive and a common keggerator conversion. I decided to be fancy and have an electronic temp controller.
However, one thing I didn't see mentioned in any post, is that the locking mechanism drops about an inch under the key hole. When I cutout the hole for the temperature controller, I found about 1/4" of the bottom of the lock. My work around for this was to partially close the lock. It doesn't engage, but it leaves enough room for the controller.
So, for future reference, for anyone doing this mod, mount the controller about 1.5" below the lock, and you'll be safe.
